Greetings to District 4-C2 Lions:
From the Webmaster:
We have turned the corner on Lions Year 2011/2012, and I am into the home stretch of my third year as your Webmaster. I have enjoyed my time with the Website and I hope you have found the changes to be helpful and the site increasingly useful. My goal has been, and still is to provide all Lions, Lioness and Leos with a dependable, easy to use resource for news, forms, contact information and other useful data.
One change of major importance has been the delivery of the District 4-C2 Bulletin, the Blue Print. Instead of being delivered by email attachment, as it has for the past several years, we have established a District 4-C2 secure email list, and notifications are sent monthly to all members of the list, with an embedded link to this web site. When you click on the link, you will be taken directly to the web page for the Blue Print. Once there, select the issue you want, and it will download. Please be clear on one vital point: no one needs to be on the 4-C2 email list to receive the Blue Print. The Bulletin is always posted to the Website, and is available for download by anyone. All the email message does is provide a timely notice of availability and a convenient link to the page. I do, however, recommend to all 4-C2 Lions that they sign up for the email list, as it is also used to distribute urgent messages from the Governor and Cabinet Secretary. Signup is easy, and the list is secure. It is not shared with anybody but the Governor and the Cabinet Secretary. To sign up, do one of two things: Send an email to me at Sign me up with your name & club, or; go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/4c2lions/ and follow the directions to join the Group.
The District Directory and its updates are still password protected, to avoid wide dissemination of contact information. To get to the Directory, click on the "District Publications" button to the left, and then click on "District Directory". You will get a login window, which will require you to enter a User Name & Password. If you do not know the login information, send an email to Password Information, identifying yourself and your Club, and the information will be provided by return email.
Items to be posted to the Web Site are always welcome,
please send to me by e-mail, webmaster@district-4c2.com and I will try to accommodate you.

| From the Desk of 1st Vice District Governor. October 19, 2011: Lions Club International is trying a new way to recruit the next generation of Lions members by getting their attention where they spend the most time and that is online with their electronic gadgets. While attending the International Convention this year I saw a rap video featuring young and old members in their yellow vest, singing and dancing to rap lyrics while doing community service projects such as feeding the hungry, providing eyeglasses and planting trees. The goal of this video is to attract the attention of our next generation of Lions members by showing them, in a fun and entertaining way, what our members do across our country and around the world. This recruitment campaign was created pro-bono by Serve Marketing, a non-profit ad agency that specializes in public marketing. This organization chose the non-traditional, humorous approach to showcase that fun and camaraderie is a integral part of the Lions club success, while presenting a campaign that is bold and a fresh effort to communicate the Lions mission and attract new members. Watch the video on www.lionsclubs.org and click on "Rockin' the Vest". 1st Vice District Governor Ben ******************************************************************************************************** |
FROM CABINET SECRETARY JEAN ROYBAL - August 20, 2010
There are two important (but unrelated) issues that should be of interest to 4-C2 Clubs: The first is an IRS Ruling regarding non-profit organizations. Improper or late filing could result in a club's loss of non-profit status. The second is LCI policy on reinstatement of previous service in Lions, following a hiatus.
Both of these issues are explained in my recent note on the subjects. Click here to view/print the note.
